about
James Sligh recently left home for Spain, carrying a green 1952 Remington typewriter, his mother's 35mm camera, & a dozen black & blue Pilot razor point pens.
His preference for the analog is less a rigid ideology than it is a patchwork of vague ethics, Walter Benjamin's notion of aura, pointilist political theory, & aesthetics.
He lives in Jaén, Andalucía, a provincial capital inundated by a thousand thousand olive trees, & teaches English at a high school in Bédmar, a pueblo an hour outside the city.
