James Sligh is a New York City–based sommelier. Before that, he was a freelance fact-checker, and before that, he was a teacher, of English as a foreign language to middle- and high-schoolers in Andalucía and Basque Country, and of music, to 7–12 year-olds at a performing arts day camp hosted at Tufts.

What this blog was, and is, aside from an unhealthy preocupation with typewriters, has more or less mirrored those professional changes. Right now it’s dedicated to a lot of writing around a quixotic and, it seems, long project that started as a joke.
